Our Finishing Standard
Quality begins long before the final coat of paint.
Belmont Doors utilizes professional catalyzed coating systems throughout our finishing process to deliver durable, consistent, factory-quality finishes.
We do not use non-catalyzed lacquer or non-catalyzed polyurethane products in any of our finishing processes.
This is an important part of our commitment to producing finishes that meet the expectations of professional cabinet makers, designers, contractors, and homeowners alike.
Professional Priming
Our primer provides the proper foundation for a smooth, durable painted finish.
Available options include:
- 2 Coats Front
- 2 Coats Front + 1 Coat Back
- Post-catalyzed lacquer solvent-based primer
- Water-based primer
- White
- Dark Grey
What are your steps in priming?
We prime 2 coats front and 1 coat back with sanding in between front coats on RAW material. On White Melamine back material we prime 2 coats on the front only, unless otherwise specified.
If you intend to apply your own finish coat, we recommend confirming compatibility with your paint supplier, particularly when applying coatings over solvent-based primer systems.
Factory Top Coat Finishing
Our factory-applied finishing service combines a professional polyurethane primer with a professionally colour-matched top coat prepared in-house for consistency and accuracy.
Top Coat options include:
- Front only
- Front and back
- Belmont Doors supplied paint
- Customer supplied paint
Top Coat pricing is separate and is applied in addition to the priming cost.
Colour Matching
Belmont Doors provides professional in-house colour matching for painted cabinet doors.
Whether you specify a standard manufacturer colour or a custom finish, our goal is to achieve consistent results throughout your project.
Colour Approval Samples
Where a custom in-house colour match requires a physical sample for client approval, a fee of $100 per sample will apply.
Approval samples help ensure confidence before production begins on custom-coloured projects.

Technical Data Sheets (TDS) are available upon request.
